We love any opportunity to work creatively with kids, and that’s what artist Karen Kimmel’s Crafting Community event at Palm Springs’ Ace Hotel was all about. In fact, it was designed for it, and we were responsible for most of that design.
We set up the all-important flow of the space, and created the large Crafting Community signs in the spirit of the event using fun, inexpensive materials like peg board, shoe laces and multi-colored tape.
We designed and executed the Splendid pop-up store layout and merchandise flow, and created shopping and window displays with Karen Kimmel. We also painted the “Splendid” blue and white stripes on the curved wall.
And we had an absolute blast leading a fort-building workshop, teaching people to build cardboard houses for kids to play in and decorate. Our “fort” design was inspired by modern desert housing designs.
